About Chevrolet BrightDrop Electric Delivery Vehicles

The Chevrolet BrightDrop lineup consists of two purpose-built all-electric vans designed for last-mile delivery customers: the BrightDrop 400 and BrightDrop 600. Both models are built on GM's Ultium battery platform, which supports over-the-air software updates, remote vehicle diagnostics, and connected fleet monitoring.

The BrightDrop 600 offers approximately 600 cubic feet of cargo space and a max payload of 3,230 lbs, with a range of up to 272 miles on the larger battery configuration. The BrightDrop 400 provides up to 412.1 cubic feet of cargo volume and a max payload of 3,710 lbs, also reaching up to 272 miles of range. Both electric vans are built to meet the cargo and load capacity demands of commercial delivery fleets while producing zero tailpipe emissions.

For detailed specifications, refer to your vehicle owner's manual or visit the Chevrolet BrightDrop official website.

Fleet Electrification and EV Transition Support

Transitioning to electric delivery vehicles involves more than selecting a vehicle. Fleet operators in Canada typically work through service plan selection, charging infrastructure installation, and driver training as part of the EV transition. 7Gen supports clients through this process, providing fleet electrification tools and guidance tailored to last-mile delivery operations.

Electric vans like the BrightDrop series offer a total cost of ownership advantage over diesel alternatives, driven by lower energy costs, reduced maintenance from fewer mechanical components, and access to government incentives for EVs available across Canada. The BrightDrop Core software platform gives fleet operators real-time location tracking, battery status monitoring, and predictive maintenance insights. It also helps optimize charging schedules and track carbon emissions reductions across the fleet. Certain connected features require a select service plan; services vary by vehicle configuration and region.

Evaluating the full total cost of electric delivery requires looking beyond the purchase price. Fuel savings, reduced maintenance intervals, and available government programs can significantly offset the initial investment for last-mile delivery customers operating in Canada. Fleet managers working through EV transition tools typically assess daily route distances against vehicle range, charging infrastructure needs at depot locations, and the level of fleet software integration required to operate efficiently at scale. 7Gen supports clients at each stage of this process, from initial assessment through to vehicle delivery and ongoing support.

Driver Assistance Features and Safety Technology

BrightDrop vehicles include a suite of driver assistance features designed to support safe operation in commercial delivery environments. Enhanced Automatic Emergency Braking uses radar and camera technology to detect a potential collision with a detected vehicle, a detected cross traffic vehicle, a front pedestrian, or a bicyclist braking ahead, and can apply hard emergency braking automatically when the system determines intervention is needed. The system is designed to help reduce the severity of a potential collision and operates within a defined speed range.

Lane Keep Assist provides a brief steering wheel turn to alert drivers when it detects unintentional drifting out of lane lines. Lane Departure Warning provides additional system alerts if necessary, though alerts do not occur when you use your turn signal or when the system detects you may be intentionally leaving your lane. A Following Distance Indicator helps drivers remain attentive to surrounding traffic conditions and nearby detected vehicles, while Rear Cross Traffic Braking assists when reversing. Intersection collision protection is also included on equipped models.

The driver assistance features in BrightDrop vehicles are designed to work together across different driving situations. Systems that rely on camera technology perform best in well-lit, high-visibility conditions, while radar-based systems maintain function across a broader range of traffic conditions. Drivers should understand how each system helps avoid collisions in the environments where BrightDrop vans are most commonly used, including urban last-mile routes with frequent stops, intersections, and pedestrian traffic. Operating in a safe manner and staying aware of system alerts is essential, as these features are intended to support attentive driving rather than replace it.

All driver assistance features are subject to important feature limitations. Low visibility performance may be reduced in adverse weather, and certain road or traffic conditions can affect feature performance. More important feature limitations, including those related to detection range, speed thresholds, and specific environmental conditions, are detailed in the owner's manual safety section. Safe vehicle operation remains the driver's responsibility at all times, in all surrounding traffic conditions. Refer to your vehicle owner's manual for complete guidance on optional equipment and feature use.

Infotainment System and Google Built-In Services

BrightDrop vehicles are equipped with an 11.3-inch color touchscreen infotainment system featuring Google Built-In services. Google Maps for navigation, Google Play for app downloads, and Google Assistant for voice commands are all available natively through the infotainment system without requiring a paired smartphone. Google Actions extend the assistant's capabilities through supported in-vehicle apps. Wireless Android Auto is also available for drivers who prefer using a connected device.

Some connected features require account linking to a Google account, and user terms from Google LLC apply to all services accessed through the platform. Feature availability may vary by vehicle configuration and location. For delivery drivers, the infotainment system provides route navigation that can be accessed hands-free, while fleet operators monitor vehicle information and fleet status through the BrightDrop Core web and mobile platform separately. For assistance with infotainment system setup or account access, contact your authorized GM service centre or refer to your vehicle owner's manual.

Vehicle Warranty, Dealer Pricing, and Modification Notes

The vehicle limited warranty for Chevrolet BrightDrop models is administered through General Motors. Independent supplier alterations or the installation of components from independent suppliers after delivery may affect the vehicle limited warranty. Contact your GM dealer before making modifications to a specific vehicle to understand the implications for warranty coverage. This applies to both mechanical modifications and the installation of aftermarket equipment by independent suppliers.

Pricing is set at the dealership level. Vehicle information and specification figures shown on the BrightDrop official website or in published materials are intended for comparison purposes and do not represent cash offers. Dealer sets final price based on regional market conditions, and the amount paid may differ from figures shown in published vehicle information. Final price, including any dealer fees, is confirmed directly with the dealership. Confirm all vehicle information and pricing details with your authorized dealership before purchase.

If you are a 7Gen client with a question about your leased BrightDrop vehicle's warranty coverage or service eligibility, contact 7Gen support directly.

Load Management, Telematics Notes, and BrightDrop Trace

The BrightDrop 400 and 600 are rated to specific carrying capacity and load capacity limited figures that must not be exceeded. Payload and cargo volume specifications vary by configuration; refer to your vehicle owner's manual for the limits that apply to your specific vehicle before loading. Staying within the rated carrying capacity is important for vehicle performance, braking distances, and safe manner of operation, particularly on routes with frequent stops or variable terrain.

BrightDrop connected telematics powered by OnStar give fleet managers access to vehicle location, battery status, and predictive maintenance data. The vehicle's safety alert systems also help reduce driver's hard braking situations by warning drivers when following distance becomes unsafe. Camera-based systems may experience limited nighttime performance in low-light conditions, and the system detects obstacles directly ahead within a defined zone. Additional feature limitations are documented in the owner's manual safety section and should be reviewed by all drivers before operating the vehicle.

The BrightDrop Trace is an electric cart designed to work alongside BrightDrop vans on new delivery routes. It carries up to 200 lbs and helps delivery personnel move packages from the van to the door more efficiently, reducing physical strain across high-volume stops. Used together, the BrightDrop van and Trace electric cart form an integrated last-mile delivery system that helps drivers avoid collisions and manage packages safely throughout their route.
